At fourteen, Adrian Mole's life continues to be nothing but a set of tragic circumstances: His tempestuous relationship with an alluring schoolmate tortures him, while his intellectualism continues to be ignored by the British press. Despite it all he remains as agonizingly funny as ever in this, the second of his diaries.

When I was a teenager, I absolutely adored this book. I identified with Adrian Mole's life-and-death struggles with incompetent parenting, bullies, and pimples, and I fell in love with his drool humor. Unfortunately, as a mature adult now (at least, some days anyway), I find it difficult to identify with Adrian anyway.

This book is absolutely amazing!! I read it when I was in high school, then recommended it to my mum (whom I later overheard reading it aloud to my dad, and they were in tears from laughing), and now, I'm reading it with my 13 year old son.... I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!

This is one of the funniest books I have ever read! "The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole" will strike a chord with any adolescent or anyone who has ever been an adolescent. Even though Adrian is a character from the '80s, his book is still very fresh and rib-crackingly hilarious. This is two books in one. You also get the second Adrian Mole book, "The Growing Pains of Adrain Mole". If you read the "Secret Diary", read the "Growing Pains" to see what happens to Adrain next. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!

This is not a well-known book. In fact, I think I just found it somewhere in Amsterdam or Switzerland when I was a child (1980's), and I picked it up for the hell of it.

I can't believe this book is not included in the halls of classic children's literature. It's funny, often realistic, and very insightful.

There is so much about Adrian's thoughts, feelings, and misadventures that speaks to all of us. I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me this is really someone's diary.

Also included are details about modern British history. There is something to learn there, as well.

This one's definitely a sleeper. Get it!

Adrian Mole is a laugh riot! I absolutely love this series and have before the books made the leap over the pond to the U.S. Highly recommend the books for anyone from ages 12 to 120.

I got this book for my 12 year old grandaughter and I don't know if she has read it yet. Just gave it to her this summer. But it was in good shape. I think she will really like it as well as her brother who is 11 years old will also.
