The last book in the Tillerman family cycle will work its way into readers' sensibilities like the roots of a long-nurtured plant that suddenly blooms; this novel is the sum of all those that have preceded it-just as quietly powerful, just as beautifully paced.

This is the last book in the Tillerman Family saga. I love Voight's novels and straight forward style of writing, but was very disappointed with this effort. Even though Dicey ended up with Jeff (one of my favorite Voight characters besides Bullet), the shoddy and careless way that she handled her boat business did not fit with her character from previous novels. Where was the careful, meticulous Dicey with a good head on her shoulders that we know and love? That Dicey was very careful with her money and weary of strangers. I am mystified with Dicey's lack of business sense - not having insurance, not drawing up contracts with customers, or trusting and giving her business check to a homeless bum that she took in with a gambling addiction (which she was well aware of!) to deposit into her bank account for her. She always seemed so careful and cautious in the previous books so it's so unlike her to be unprepared even though she is 21 years old. She had no common sense running her boat business.
I felt very unsatisfied with this novel and annoyed with how the well beloved series ended. We see almost nothing of Jeff nor much of his romantic relationship with Dicey. This novel could have been so much more but I had to read it to complete the series.

I loved all of the books in this series. Started out reading the first book with or of my nieces and enjoyed it so much I recommended it to my grandson and granddaughter. We enjoyed the first book do much, we decided to read all of the books in the series. Surely this will not be the last book?

...that you know how it will end, Ms. Bought comes through! The only negative thought I'd that this magnificent series is over. How I wish there was just one more book to savor!

Another great book and the final of the series. I couldn't put this one down. I am sorry that this s the last. I would hope that there is maybe more to come as I would love to continue the saga. The series is great and one that I would recommend. I will read more by this author.

A brave girl has now turned adult. Many a lesson learned about the human condition. Worth reading by not only young adult, but adults as well,
