This book is changing my life! For years I've felt much older than my years, and was tired and "Spent"...no doctor could tell me what was wrong with me after every test in the book...In the first three pages, I knew this book was for me - it was my story to a "T"! This was a tough program, but totally worth it. It forced me to make better food choices and in the end, I feel much better. I will continue to follow the program. Choosing to eat local and organic is smart and once you're in the groove it actually becomes easy. Stopping sugar seems much harder than it really is. After 3 days, cravings diminish and after a week you can walk away from the cupcakes in the lunch room. I've never done that before. Ever.

This information and the format of the book have been very helpful for me to make the dietary changes I wanted but had difficulty doing alone. This book was originally called SPENT and came in hard cover which I had borrowed from the local library. Since the book Revive only comes in the form of a small paper back I found it difficult to read and view the yoga positions. Save your money and find the hard cover SPENT (used) and it will serve as a better reference book. Dr Lipman is practiced in both alternative and Western Medicine, I would recommend this to anyone who does not know where to start to improve their health.

What I liked about this book was how it clearly explained the connection to America's current poor diet and the various diseases that we are afflicted with as a result. Dr. Lipman writes a very easy to follow program of how you can give your body a "cleaning" that can flush the stored toxins out and make you feel invigorated again. This is what the other health books I've read in the past were missing. Unfortunately for me, I got stuck on just the first step. He recommended starting each day off with a whey protein drink, but the whey gave me a huge stomachache, so I went to his website and found out this is a sign that you're intolerant to whey and probably have a gastro-intestinal issue that needs to be taken care of first. Though I haven't finished his program, I'm glad it helped me pinpoint what my problem was (gastro-intestinal), since I have been wondering all these years what was wrong with me. I am now currently trying to heal my gastro-intestinal issue and look forward to getting back on track with Dr. Lipman's program. This book is a great way to get Dr. Lipman's advice for those of us who do not live in the New York area where he conducts his practice.

I've followed a clean eating and healthy lifestyle for years and this book will get you started, get you back on track or compliment an already healthy lifestyle. Sound advice and well researched I recommend this in conjunction with therapy (I'm a mental health therapist) for those clients who are spent, burnt out and have lived with trauma. A well spent purchase indeed.
I had felt horrible for 5 months and had every lab test known to man. Read Clean and that author recommended Revive if answering yes to a few questions.
