Hudson’s work had a significant impact on many early twentieth century New Thought writers such as Ernest Holmes.

Refusing his father's wish to become a minister of religion, Hudson funded his own study of law at college. He began a law practice in Port Huron, Michigan but, in 1860, he began a journalistic career instead

I have a pdf copy of this book which is a copy of the original book, I had read it and wanted a hard copy for reference. I bought this and get it to find a large portion of the material is missing!!! As far as I can tell they deleted it simply because it had the word Christ in the title, not smart seeing as fragmented information is incomplete and therefore useless!! Whether a reader agrees with Christianity or not the information of said chapters is still vital information. Simply ignore the religious propaganda and take away what you can use but DO NOT delete entire chapters from a book and promote it as if it were the full book. That's a scumbag move!!!!

A brilliant piece of work. Dr. Hudson is to the natural laws pertaining to the mind as Isaac Newton is to the mechanical laws of nature. He has taken all of the observable phenomenon related to things psychic and formulated a set of laws that govern them, very similar to what Isaac Newton did with the observations in his day of the motions of heavenly bodies. He has removed the spookiness from psychic occurrences and explained them in detail and in terms of the actions of simple, specific laws. Unfortunately, no one is studying or applying the principles Dr. Hudson discovered. I believe if we would put as vigorous an effort into studying and applying the natural laws governing things mental or psychic as we have put into applying Newton's laws, mankind would be doing far more amazing things than what has taken place since Newton's day. An entire school could be built around the teachings in this book.

Edgar Cayce recommended this book in connection to readings dealing with the nature of the subconscious mind. Although written in 1893, the subject matter is relevant. In fact Jose Silva might very easily have been influenced by this work as it ties in very closely with his alpha states and self hypnosis. Of course any student of Cayce realizes Edgar put himself in a "self-induced" trance in order to give a reading. Some quantum physics
experiments seem to show a "universal" force field or hologram that ties everything together. For those seeking truth...a good read.

This book is written in down-to-earth language, easy to understand. I have not had time to read more than various places in the book but am looking forward to reading it soon.

Outdated and terribly boring. Don't waste your time. There are many more books on Amazon worth reading. Even if this book was free it would not be worth your time.
The final five or so chapters are particularly good in explaining Christ's mission.
I was raised a Catholic in the 1950s and got told none of the meaty stuff Hudson
reveals. Where I couldn't believe the school indoctrination, I can assent to
the explanations Hudson provides. He effectively explains what I've long suspected,
that there are two types of human being, and the one that is 'saved' belongs to
a small minority due to the enormity of the demands placed on our imagination
and our faith, or knowingness. He makes the word 'faith' actually mean something,
which is needed badly today. This is what I call real religion for the intelligent
person. These chapters changed my life. I'm not big on spiritism but I am passionate
about the Christ myth, and Hudson makes conventional Christianity appear confused and
befuddled. To Hudson, salvation is a question of seeking and finding on the matter of
immortality. I found these chapters to be absolutely wonderful insights. Pure genius.
