This is our third book, having worked through Books 1 and 2. All 3 Lollipop Logic books have the same framework and challenge level, rather than being sequential in difficulty. They are arranged substantially similarly as far as layout, as well. I feel that Book 3 does not have quite the level of quality control that the first 2 books had, with some answers being much more open to interpretation rather than clearly identifiable. That said, it's _nearly_ on par with these 2 other books, both of which have been great tools for practicing logic skills in early elementary ages. The suggested grades of K - 2 seem accurate.

Some months after finishing the thoroughly enjoyable Volume 2 of Lollipop Logic, I bought this book for my five-year-old, who promptly devoured it. The series as a whole is a fun, easy, and visually appealing introduction to logic. All the books feature different types of logic problems, and are not cumulative, so you can go in any order. I recommend the series to anyone with a curious pre-literate or newly literate youngster with a fondness for workbooks and puzzles.

This book is not without its flaws, however:
-- Most of the problems in the "Deduction" section followed the same, highly predictable structure. After a while, I found my daughter was finding the solution based on the pattern instead of actually having to deduce anything.
-- The "Critical Analysis" problems, while entertaining, are also ambiguous and lend themselves to more than one answer. Several times, my daughter came upon an appropriate solution that wasn't the one featured in the book. It would be nicer if there was only one correct answer.

This isn't a criticism exactly, more of an FYI for people who might be in our same boat: For the most part, the contents of the book seemed a bit too easy and required little thought on my daughter's behalf. While she loved doing the book, it felt like she had "aged out" of the series since doing Volume 2. We are currently working through Prufrock Publishing's PRIMARY LOGIC book which, while less visually appealing, and considerably wordier, seems to be appropriately stimulating - and just as popular as the Lollipop series.

Despite these issues, I am fond of the series and would recommend it to parents of kids at the right developmental stage.

Our six year old loves these books to start his school day. They help get him thinking logically and ready to learn! We used the first two last year during kindergarten and he is doing Book 3 during 1st grade.

This book is a fabulous, fun resource to get kids thinking about patterns, analogies, deductive reasoning... topics critical to higher order thinking that aren't commonly covered in school but appear in a lot of placement tests. I have a 5 and 3 year old who both love tackling the fun "puzzles" and "games" in this book and feel so proud when they get the answers right! I love these books so much that I bought all 3 versions and we try to do 1-2 activities each night with bedtime reading. They remind me of the brainteasers my mom used with me when I was young.

Not that impressed with this book-out of all the books we got this seems to be the least fun and attractive, it was also one of the more expensive books. Will be avoiding this edition in future.

My daughter and I love these books. They make you THINK rather than just do tasks. Our favorite workbook out there.

Starts off easy and gets harder. Lessons are on the front and back of each page, although the pages are not perforated. If you want to pull pages to make copies for use with more than one child you'll have to cut them out. I would recommend this book without question.
Great resource for my six year old.
