I always liked Sara Craven's books. In this one the heroine is the spoiled, only child of a high powered businessman. When he dies, she is left to head her father's business empire. After being called home from a vacation, she learns her company is on the verge of being completely taken over by a powerful conglomerate. Her board of directors, who don't believe women can run a business as good as a man, have brought in her ex-fiancée to head the board & prevent the take over. This does NOT sit well with our heroine at all. Especially when the only way to convince the board that the company can survive is to marry him & become Chairman. Reluctantly she gives in & the day is saved for now. Now she has to face the reasons she broke their engagement off before. One of the best characters was the creepy, snooty housekeeper in the hero's family house. She reminded me of Mrs. Danvers in Rebecca. All in all a good read for a slow weekend
