First she lost her memor. ow she's misplaced her heart. London society considers Lady Elizabeth Fairchild a tease and a flirt

First she lost her memor. I read this book initially when it was first released and decided to purchase it years later because I found the story a bit unusual and compelling. Heroine has unrequited love for her neighbor and is determined to make herself stand out amongst the season's debutantes with her outlandish behavior (which is not her true nature).

The hero is annoying and really stupid to believe that just because the heroine declined a marriage offer of one of his best friends, and that friend went by ship to America, and the boat sank, drowing his friend, that she was responsible for the death. The premise is ludicrous. Gee, if he had died in a carriage accident, or while hunting, would that too have been her fault?

Book contains numerous typos and the language is modern. NOT a traditioinal regency; the heroine would never have been allowed to recuperate in his house, eat at the dinner table sitting near him, with only the housekeeper in residence. Austen and Heyer would roll in their graves. And, to top it off $2.99 for 188 pages? Not worth it. I too got to the middle and rather than wishing that it would end, I closed the book.

This is the first time I have ever read a Regency Romance where I didn't like the hero and aside from his looks, what are heroine is drawn to I have no idea. Beth is honest, straight-forward and forgiving and gets to a place where she could have any suitor she wanted but no she sticks to this man who doesn't believe anything she says. The characters are well drawn but their choices make no sense. Plot interesting but by the middle of this book I started rooting for it to end. And the typos were maddening, 3 on one page along. What ever happened to proofreaders? I read this authors other book "Ay Lady's Point of View" and thought it charming, try that one.

Did she break Chumley's heart? Was she responsible for his death? Unfortunately Lady Elizabeth isn't sure because she lost her memory after being thrown from her horse. And the one thing she knows is that she is in love with the angry Marquis who believes her to be a scheming flirt.

Nice twist on the amnesia theme, this book weaves the sputtering romances of 3 couples as they try to figure out what is actually happening. Excellent Regency Romance.

This book is in desperate need of a proof reader. A good story and characters, but the frequent typos and punctuation errors are really annoying.

A sweet and fluffy Regency period piece, unfortunately riddled with typos and transcription errors. Some sloppy punctuation also distracted from the story. I enjoyed the book, despite having to grit my teeth over these cosmetic flaws. I sincerely hope this is not a trend popular with this author or her publisher. With 90+ titles, I had hoped to read more of her work, but I refuse to spend my time and money on rough drafts and unedited novels.

The book is a true page turner. Beth, The main character, is not one of the authors best constructed characters but her adventures in the London season are still very entertaining.
Highly recommended!
