Miss Impractical Pants. Cover art and design by Nellie Lingwall.

Miss Impractical Pants. This book is a work of fiction, the names, characters, places and incidents are products of the writer’s imagination or have been used fictitiously and are not to be construed as real. Thanks for teaching me the difference between sucky writing and quality writing. And thanks for believing I had the talent to do something with my manuscript.

Katie Sutherland has a plan an Amazing Plan and no sweatpants-wearing cheapskate pervert (or any other string of adjectives describing the list of men who have been on her dating docket) is going to keep her from accomplishing it. When Jared Stone comes to town in all his beef-cakey SWAT-man glory, everyone is convinced he's The One for Katie. Everyone but Katie. So, when Katie is offered an internship in England working for entrepreneur-make that, hot entrepreneur, Lucas Hayden, she jumps at the opportunity to get far away from the romantic scrutiny. If Katie thought living in England was going to be anything like an uneventful BBC special, boy, was she mistaken. When Lucas insists she attend a high-society ball, wearing a borrowed diamond pendant that's way too big to be real, Katie knows she's way out of her rugged Colorado element. Not only that, but her borrowed diamond is not only real but rare, and there's more than one status-stalker salivating to get their hands around Katie's neck. When her new-found notoriety lands her in trouble of international proportions, Katie has more to worry about than fighting a raging crush for her new employer, or determining if Jared really is The One. Katie doesn't know how she'll survive the summer. If she does, it just might mean she'll have to embrace a change of plan. Even an Amazing One.
Portions of this book almost have a slapstick comedy kind of feel. I connected to the beginning of this book without hesitation and after that it was smooth sailing until the end. The characters are funny and witty and I found the main character charming and some of her internal dialogue left me laughing. I liked this book because it didn't really have to have a lot of action or a tremendous amount of things happening to be entertaining. The author was so brilliant at creating her characters that she kept me entertained by their thoughts alone. Dialogue is one of the hardest things for any author to accomplish successfully and I thought this author pulled it off with perfection. I liked this one a lot and would recommend it for anyone looking for an easy read filled with laughs. Great book.
I happened to get this book for free for Kindle which I love - and I was looking for a light and funny read. This answered both needs and was the right price. I round the main character to be funny and bright, though I found her mishaps and injuries through out the book (which are many!) to be a little unbelievable. I found the character of Jared the SWAT guy to be a little overly simple but a fun antagonist. I loved the syncronicity of the "what comes around goes around" in her friendships. And I loved the way it all came full circle in the end and tied up all the loose ends. All in all I found it very enjoyable. It's a fun summer read, and relatively clean. I laughed out loud at areas and loved the authors sense of humor.
I want to be Katie! Okay maybe just parts of Katie, because she has the worst luck in just about everything and I'm not exaggerating. How is it possible this book doesn't have more reviews? It's beyond awesome with laugh out loud moments, romance, more laugh of loud moments, action and oh, did I mention laugh out loud moments?

If I had friends who loved me more than I loved myself, mentors to push me during my lazy days, friends with friends in far away places and multiple sexy men to enjoy it all with...I would be set! After reading this book, I immediately went to facebook to see who my friends were friends with, so I could dig out my passport and start over in a far away land. While I didn't find friends like Katie's in England, I'm not giving up hope. One day I'll find it and I can't wait! This book is worth the read!
This is a humorous love story that is a lot of fun to read when in the mood for some fluff. It does have a few typos but not enough to be annoying. The story ties together really well and the interplay between the characters is truly humorous. It bothered me that the Katie character kept allowing the Jared character to be around after his behavior to her but I suppose real people make these poor choices also. It did make me laugh out loud a few times and my husband had to ask me what was so funny when he saw me reading with a big smile.
I got my book yesterday and I just finished it. It was so entertaining. I love to read romantic sexy stories like Nora Roberts and Sandra Brown but this was such a refreshing change. I love the way the author was able to mix in such humor and light heartedness all while you get hooked on the characters and cannot wait for the sexual charged encounters. The sense of humor and quirkiness of the main character is simply charming. I hope that book number 2 will not take too long. GREAT SUMMER READ!!
I found the book to be a very fun read. I finished it in the course of two days on my Kindle. I happen to have gotten it for free, which was even better than buying it, but I'm still rating it a good buy if you like romantic comedies with a touch of mystery. She reminded me of Janet Evanovich.
This book is entertaining in bits. There are lots of great moments with good description. However it doesn't really work for me as a whole. It starts out classic Romantic Comedy -- girl wants a life, her friends keep foisting boyfriends on her, all of which turn out disasters. Add to this her rather ditsy, charming, accident prone nature and you have the perfect rom com heroine. However 60% of the way through it suddenly we're in a thriller involving the struggle between Bosnia and Croatia. A thriller in which she accidentally becomes involved. And the thriller ends up on a serious note with a bit of an author's message. Somehow it didn't quite mesh for me. Ms. Thayne obviously has talent and two books here. This book was a free Kindle down-load.
This book is the best beach read! How much fun! I couldn't stop laughing! It's so true to life.
The author is absolutely amazing. Kudos....I'm going to share this book with all of my friends.
How is it possible for one person to get inside the heads of multiple people? Well, this author did!
