A bit of a heavy reader designed for an audience already familiar with the intellectual/theological and philosophical players in this field. Some may find it a hard trail. Others will find the reference material they need for further work. 4 star rating is only because it isn't a fun read, otherwise it would be 5 for its value.

A different perspective for me - imagine that, while I just "like it" right now, I will soon love it. It arrived quickly and well-packed. Thank you.

I bought this book for a college course and we ended up not using it, I've been reading it in my free time and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it's a perfect introductory book for theological aesthetics.

I especially like this book's approach to providing exceptional book. A most useful read - I benefitted from the Reader. Thiessen's choices deserve high acclaims - and they will increasingly be demanding it for more!

This is an excellent resource for those who care about the visual arts and communities of faith. Somewhat intellectually advanced but well worth the effort.
