Sirona Knight's awesome POCKET GUIDE TO CELTIC SPIRITUALITY packs a lot into one little book. You know magic is surely afoot when a 112 page book says more on the subject of Celtic mythology, gods and godesses, divination, and rituals than most of the larger books on this topic ever manage to convey. I am particularly impressed with Knight's immense knowledge on Celtic traditions, which are abundantly obvious to anyone fortunate enough to read this little gem of a reference book.
I especially loved reading about "The Three Eyes of Kerridwen", which Knight explains is a formula for creating any pattern in magic. While it only consists of three basic steps, they are indeed the essence of all good manifestation.
This is the fun kind of book that's the perfect size to take with you when you travel to lands steeped in Celtic tradition -- or if you prefer, it's perfect for reading by the fire. You can then travel on the wings of your imagination to the British Isles thousands of years ago.

I read this book and was amazed by the contents.

The Pocket Guide to Celtic Spirituality might function as a wonderful introduction to Neopaganism. However, the problem is that the author attributes exclusively Neopagan beliefs and rituals to the ancient Celts. Such obviously incorrect assertions as the statement that ancient Celtic priestesses were known as Naiads (Greek water nymphs) and that the Morrigan was a "sea goddess of wisdom and beauty" (virtually all other sources state she was a goddess of war) make me wonder if the author simply didn't bother to do any research at all, or is just indulging in wishful thinking. This book makes no distinction between facts and religious dogma, and anyone seeking a historical account of the mythology of the ancient Celts should not buy it.

This little pocket guide has more information packed in it than most all other books on druids, Celts, and Celtic Ritual. New Age witch Sirona Knight is one of my personal favorite authors on Celtic subjects and Wicca. In this little book, she has really put together an empowering book that everyone can read, understand, and follow. It's not like a lot of these other books on the subject that are so esoteric that they are of no use to anyone. The author also doesn't muddy up the waters with a lot of personal conjecture like so many other authors on this subject. If you want to read a very good book on Celtic Spirituality, this one is certain to please you--and inspire you!
