In Scottish folklore, the Loch Ness Monster or Nessie is said to be a creature that inhabits Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. Popular interest and belief in the creature have varied since it was brought to worldwide attention in 1933. Evidence of its existence is anecdotal, with a few disputed photographs and sonar readings.

I'd never heard of this book or this author, but I don't know why. I'm a connoisseur of books on lake and sea monsters and this was a singular work. Baumann took it upon himself to do a lot of basic field research and turned up a lot of eye-witness accounts that I haven't found in print anywhere else. [Presumably people who had never been interviewed before.]
This is well-worth reading if you're looking for some new insight and stories about the lake monster phenomena. :)
