Like its predecessor Outer Dark (1968), Child of God established McCarthy's interest in using extreme isolation, perversity, and violence to represent human experience

This book grows as a child grows. From birth through age six and all the growing days in between, Child of God provides the perfect place to gather thoughts, prayers, and memories. It also makes a wonderful tool for baptismal preparation program directors and parents as it follows along the beginning years of raising a child in faith. Most pages open with a short sentence or two from scripture or traditional Christian prayers, accented with bits of art. Capture baby handprints and footprints, photos, newspaper clippings, a lock of hair, a lost tooth. Record poignant stories, special drawings, dates of sacraments received, and pieces of family history. Godparents and grandparents will also find places to contribute. After the pages are filled, put this book away and later present it to the grown child as a special gift.

This is a wonderful catholic baby book. I already have one that we bought over 2 years ago for my daughter, and now that I'm pregnant again I wanted another one. It was out of print, and new ones were crazy expensive!!! This was a huge risk because it was listed as used, but thankfully, it came without a single mark in it! I can't wait to get it started with my daughter's birth and baptism stories!

I can not praise this memory book enough. It is a cherished gift for my first child, and one we had to get for every child that came after.

This baby book is nothing like the rest. It gives you pages to put important events from your faith into it. Unlike the rest of the books out there, which do not give you space for the important event in your faith. It also has pages with idea that are important that the other books don't have. I really like this book.
