I bought this for a motorcycle trip to the Black Hills. No GPS on my bike so I got a map for every state I had to pass through. It did it's job and helped me get there and back.
One additional comment: Call me old school but I love a good map. My car GPS makes me dumber every time I use it. I find myself blindly following it's directions only to find that I could have saved time and gas by planing the route myself. I also seem to remember the directions better when I plot it out on an "old-fashioned" map.

I like paper maps - I'm one of those people who goes off on random trips, but well researched. My preferred method of traveling an area is to read a book on it, mark up a map with a highlighter, and set off, sort sticking to the highlighted route, but not necessarily. This is a great map for that, although the split in the front and back sides of the map went right through a part of the state I would have preferred to have on the same side. Ah well, I suppose no one consulted me on the shape of the state, and they had to split the map somewhere.

I am a roadmap collector and recently bought the RandMcNally maps for all 50 states, plus a US Interstate map. I like the large scale used and helps considering my vision is less than ideal. I also use these maps to supplement the official maps that I also have for the entire country

Maybe I missed it on the description, but this map splits the state in two, with half on one side of the paper and the other half of the state on the flip side of the paper. Not helpful if you're looking for a map of the entire state.

I should have listened to reviews. A badly designed map, too large for convenient use, but for those like me, it's useless if you live in New York City and want a map to cover nearby counties. Note: You need to turn map over to find New York City and environs. For me, the cut off couldn't have been in the worst geographical spot. The map is terrible for Hudson River communities south of Albany to Manhattan, which must be the largest population group. But for anyone way upstate it's probably fine. If I were in charge of the map's design I would have put the entire state on one side, and all other birds eye views and information on the other. Why not view the whole state at a glance?

Bought this for our bug-out go bag. Solid map with expansions of Manhattan, NYC, Central Long Island, Buffalo/Niagra, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica, Albany, Ithaca, Elmira, Binghamton. Also has a good index. It's designed to be readable at the expense of a bit of detail (significant blank spaces in more rural areas, no relief), but it's a reasonable tradeoff. I would not look forward to trying to navigate with it, and am old enough to have done so pre-iPhones, but it's better than nothing.

We take a two week road trip each year and like to follow as many scenic routes as possible. The Rand McNally we have found to be perfect for this. We will make up 3 or four states at a time and find that these maps clearly identify possible routes.
Who was this map made for??? I am taking a trip from New York City to Syracuse and cannot see the route. Why? Because the map shows upstate on one side and downstate on the other. Useless even at 4 bucks!
