Organizational behavior is a field of social science which studies how people interact in the workplace. Organizational behavior examines personal and group behavior and mechanisms that help to increase efficiency at both the individual and organization level. In this sense, organizational behavior is an applied discipline and is closely related to sociology, psychology, statistics and ergonomics. The book is very dry and the publisher limits reading the book on kindles with text to speech. I got the book to read on my kindle for class instead I have to read on a computer screen. The material is repetitive, dry, and mentions many other disciplines but never answers the what is the point question or why this is beneficial. It feels like an "Intro to Corporate American 101" textbook, not an advanced interdisciplinary guide.

Textbooks are pretty universally horrible, but the authors/editors manage to do a solid job with this one. To be blunt, this is a book on a subject I don't enjoy for a class I'm required to take - that reading the book isn't an utter chore is a compliment. It's easy to access the information, well-organized, well-written, and concise. That's about all that can be asked of a textbook.

I found this book extremely boring. I had to have it for one of my graduate classes and it is just so...blah. Just blue words on white paper. Not a lot of illustrations or anything to break up the monotony. The "stories" at the beginning of each chapter are so ridiculously corny. This book is completely overpriced!

This book helped get me through grad school. The print is small and the writer assumes that the reader has excellent comprehension.

I read the first two chapters of this book and it was very engaging. However I then found out I had ordered the wrong one.
Also, Amazon rentals are awesome. My boyfriend and I have been using them so awhile now and the books are always in great shape and so easy to return.

I used this textbook for a graduate course I took and I loved the format because it helps the student to apply the concepts in real life situations in the workplace-regardless of where you work or the work environment.

I appreciated the great price for this book, but it was pretty beat up with pages falling out, etc. I used it for a course that I just completed so it worked out, but it was beyond 'used.'
I thought this book was very interesting because it describes everything that goes on in a business firm with all of the people involved. I give this textbook 5 stars because it is descriptive, detailed and informative.
