Love this baby wearing book! My kids thought it was awesome to see the different ways that babies are carried in other cultures.

The baby liked the book so much we bought it again when she put the first one in the tub.

So many adorable pictures. My son kisses the pages.

This book is terrible. But very small children really seem to like it.

This is a great example of many ways babies can get around. There is a good mix of cultures from around the world shown as well as different ages. The only page I would like to see changed is the page with cradle-boards (not papooses).
Most of the images are up close giving baby an opportunity to look at faces. These books are interesting all the way into tooddlerhood. If you are looking for more baby close ups also check out Global Babies or Carry Me.

Ms. Canizares is one of my favorite authors and I am grateful for her book that demonstrates the many ways a baby can get around, including baby carriers. This book is diverse; babies from all over the world are pictured with their families. My children really like reading this book but I have a slightly different take on it. Although the cover led me to think that the book was about babywearing, it is essentially about babies getting around in many ways. It shows babies in strollers, sleds, baby carriers and more. There are some wonderful pictures of babies in multicolored carriers including a wrap and the cover picture which looks like a Podegi or Mai Tai style carrier embellished with beautiful beads. I wish that there were some American babies in the more cultural carriers because my children are carried in them and in this book all of the babies in these carriers are from third world countries. All in all this is a great addition to our library!

My one year old adores babies, this book is a great way to introduce her to the many kinds of babies and baby-rearing styles found in the world. I have a degree in history and anthropology and found this book to be simple enough to be understood, and correct enough that I didn't need to have an addendum at the end. I could recommend it to any parent of little ones. Easily one of the neatest baby books I've found.
This is a charming book with wonderful pictures. But beware the derogatory term "papoose" on one picture. The baby is wrapped in a Native American baby carrier. The term papoose is one of those terms applied by White folks to all Native babies and many Native people find it very offensive.
The book is lovely - just change the one word.
