Publisher: McDougal Littell (October 9, 1996). Anne Frank's poignant - AND ABSOLUTELY TRUE - tale serves not only as a tragic tribute to the horrors of the holocaust, but also as a testament to the heroics of an ordinary heart in the midst of unfathomable injustice.

Publisher: McDougal Littell (October 9, 1996). Anne Frank's hope and bravery are beautifully memorialized in these pages; this is something everyone should read.

I bought a very good quality used copy, but should have looked much more closely. This is the PLAY, not the novel!

This is the powerful play adapted from Anne Frank's famous diary. The play captures the hopes and fears of two Jewish families hiding in the attic for two years hoping to survive the Nazi witch hunt. As many know, the Franks were aided in hiding by Meis and Jan Giep, and Meis found Anne's diary shortly after the families were discovered and arrested by the Gestapo. In addition to the play and portions of Anne's famous diary, the book also includes several additional essays. Quite moving is Ms. Giep's powerful account of Leo Frank's return after the war (he was the only one in the attic to survive), and his decision to publish his daughter's diary. Also quite moving is Bulbuli's account of his Gypsy family's suffering in Nazi concentration camps - like Jews, Gypsies were also marked for anihilation. All told, this is emotional reading, but it contains much hope and humanity.

I am informing you to read the play, "The Diary of Anne Frank" because to me this book was only about how a teenager can express her feelings by writing it down into a diary. I really think that Anne does not represent teenage life today in the present. Some parts of the book were very exiting that made me read the book more, but to me most parts were kind of boring. The part in the book that made me not like this book was the way that Anne treated her mother.I thought that was awfully wrong to a child to dislike her mother. I liked how Anne expressed her feelings in her diary.
One of the things I would improve about the play is that there should be more romantic parts involved in the play. I would change how Peter, which is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan treated Anne when his and her family went into hiding. The rest I dont want to say because I do not want to give away the ending to the play!

I am writing this to warn you not to read the book, diary of Anne Frank.I dissuade you to this book.I feel that this book is very boring because it doesn't have up to date words and acts. i believe that this book is also very boring because it's just to long and not interesting, as my opinion.I only like act 2 of the play a little because it adds a little more action to it.
The auther could improve this play by putting today's words in to it. It also could be improved by making the story shorter. I think that this play is to long, and boring at the same time for someone to be interested in this story. o' and 1 more thing the author should also put more action in it, and leave out some of the directors notes. Well this is what I think about the book and I dissuade you to read it as my opinion.

I approve "The Diary of Anne Frank" because it's a terrific book, and it shows you a different way of living. The book bascially tells you how it was, hiding in a house with no space. Anne was a child who had dreams to be someone in life as well as to go somewhere. I really like the way that the family worked together as a team.
I really think the authors can change the way the play started. As authors they should have introduced the role of each character. I could have done what Anne did, like fall in love with the only boy her age that was living in the house.

I'm trying to persuade you to read this book because it tells you how the Jewish people including Anne had to hide when the "Nazi's, and Hitler" were coming. Also I think you should read it because it has a lot of historical moments, like the Halocuast which means "burnt hole".
I could have done everything Anne did because she could argue but I do not like the way Anne argued with her mother. Anne had a thing that she always wanted and that was her diary when she got it she was happy. The only hard thing that Anne did that I could not do was adjust to having another family live in a little house.
I am writing to inform you about how horrible this play is. I am asking you not to waste your time reading this play. I find this play not interesting enough to get me hooked on it. Anne Frank lived in an old era. I can not relate with Anne Frank because I/we live in a modern era. I did not like the way Anne acted with her mother. She should have been nicer to everyone in hiding.
The authors should have had more action scenes and more love scenes. The authors should have also included the death's of each character. Finally, the authors should have written Mr. Frank's point of view during his time in the concentration camp.
