Lonesome Orange Kid
Very enjoyable. I enjoy learning about healthcare in other countries and how it is done compared to the US and I enjoy learning about mountain rescues.

I loved the characters. Seeing the love be recognized was a delight! Of course when a child is involved it becomes a tear jerker.

I normally LOVE Sarah Morgan's books, but this one was idiotic. As the younger sister to two brothers, all 3 of 'em doctors, Briony has been in love with their friend Jack since she was a girl. She works with him at the hospital and he's a Lothario, and doesn't believe in love and marriage because his parents had a horrible marriage until they finally divorced.

When Lizzie tells Mom she wrote Santa, asking for a Daddy for Christmas, it just about breaks Briony's heart. Then and there, she decides she's going to begin dating with marriage in mind. Nothing like another chore to add to the holiday rush, is there? :)

Bri knows that as long as Jack hangs around any other man will pale in comparison, but does she tell Jack he needs to STOP hanging around? Nope. Really, why in the world would Jack even NEED to marry and have kids of his own since Bri cooks for him and lets him come to her house to visit and play with her kid? Duh!

It got to be irritating, that's for sure. But the irritation didn't end there for me. Bri has presumably trained as a doctor, yet Jack tells her every little thing to do at the hospital. He's BRILLIANT! Sigh...When there's a couple of "situations" away from the hospital, Bri is clueless on how to take charge or even carry her share of the load as an adult, much less a physician.

As the info-commercial says, "But WAIT, that's not all!" When Bri makes a date with a fellow doctor, she lets Jack babysit and when Jack makes several totally unnecessary phone calls to spoil any chance for romance she doesn't realize that's why he called over and over. Then, when she goes out with this gentleman again, Bri tells Jack where they are going out to eat and he shows up there with some bimbo. This throws Bri off and then Jack tells the other doctor that HE will take Bri home, "giving" his date to David. And do either Bri or David object? No sirree!

I would like to try the books Sarah Morgan wrote about Bri's brothers, but I'm not sure of the titles. I have ordered "Rescuing Dr. Macillster," about one of the fellow doctors who has a bit part in this one. It evidently was written before this one since he has a wife in this book. I loved Ms. Morgan's "The Greek Children's Doctor" and "The Doctor's Runaway Wife." Try those instead of this one. Her books are getting too pricey, from all us rabid collectors who KEEP them, to waste money on one like this.
