Ron Fawcett is a British rock climbing legend. As one of a number of leading climbers in the 1970s, Ron was in no small part responsible for rock climbing's evolution from amateur pursuit, to professional endeavour.

Climbs such as Lord of the Flies and Strawberries were at the forefront of world climbing at the time, and are still considered formidable challenges over 30 years later.
Ron Fawcett (born 6 May 1955) is an English rock climber. He is noted for being amongst the outstanding rock climbers of the 1970s and 1980s, and for being one of the first professional rock climbers. He won the 2010 Boardman Tasker Prize for Mountain Literature with Ed Douglas, for their book Ron Fawcett, Rock Athlete. 1978: The Cad (E5, 6a), North Stack, Gogarth, Anglesey. May 1982: Tequila Mockingbird (E6 6b), Chee Tor, Derbyshire. 1982: The Prow (E6 6b), Raven’s Tor, with Gill Fawcett, over 3 days.
