The Complete Elementary Music Rudiments. Grace Vandendool’s Keyboard Theory. With a book for basic, intermediate and advanced theory, this series is similar to Mark Sarnecki’s. Except instead of everything being condensed in one book, the lessons and work pages are spread across three books, in varying levels of difficulty. Note: You can get a 3-part series of Mark Sarnecki’s theory books as well, I’ve just personally used the complete rudiments book). Keyboard Theory: Basic Rudiments. Ultimate Music Theory.

I don't understand what they mean in the book (Elementry Rudiments of Music, by Barbara Wharram) in compound time the first and second pulses must have one rest and second and third palses have separate rests??! i understand in time you group the beats (in compound: grouped in 2's-duple, 3's-triple, 4's quadruple ) but i don't understand whats ''combining'' rests/notes and what's no.
