Concert of Wills looks behind the scenes and chronicles intimate moments of success as well as frustration and heated debates. This is a really marvelous program. It came out shortly after the Getty opened in 96. Through a series of interviews and footage, you are taken through the full life cycle of the decision to build, design, amd open the great Getty Center. Through it all we see the big egos of all the participants, most especially the highly opinionated but brilliant architect Richard Myers, clash and argue.

In 1984, the go-ahead was given for one of the most prestigious building projects of last century: the Getty Center for modern art in Los Angeles. Two years later, when the plans were still in their early stages, the filmmakers started capturing the process, which was only completed on 29 October 1997, when the Getty Center was officially opened. For the design, the renowned architect Richard Meier was commissioned, famous for his austere white structures. His ideas may have been the starting point for this project, but they were not exactly accepted without any resistance.
