‘Sweet Spot’ starts out with Cat and Law meeting in a costume club (a night club that celebrates Halloween every night of the year by requiring that attendees dress up in costume, which sounds pretty fun) with Cat dressed as Wonder Woman (which is awesome) and Law as Captain America (Rowr). The attraction is instantaneous, but then Wonder Woman flees the scene when things start getting hot and heavy on the dance floor. She leaves behind her golden Lasso of Truth, though and Captain America (Law) vows to find the owner and make sweet sweet love to her.
Cat’s an investment consultant and the next day shows up at the office to discuss investments with a new client only to discover its Captain America, better known as James “Law” Lawless second baseman for the Richmond Rogues. Even though this book follows the old romance plot of Cat recognizes Law as have being Captain America, while Law bumbles along freakin’ clueless until towards the end (the club was dimly lit, she was wearing a wig, blah, blah, blah….), I still found the story entertaining.
There was a secondary story going on in the background involving another baseball player, Brody, and his childhood sweetheart, Mary, that was okay. I’m really glad the author didn’t try to make that story into a book on it’s on because while it was mildly amusing, anymore would have just been aggravating.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and the books connected to this one all involving the Richmond Rogues. They are all sweet reads.

Kate Angell brings back the hot boys of summer in her latest Sweet Spot.

James "Law" Lawless gives his all on the baseball field. When he gets a chance to blow off some steam he goes for it 100%. At a costume party he is enthralled by a seductive stranger who heats up the dance floor. But before he can find out her name she disappears.

Catherine "Cat" May was checking out a hot bar as a potential investment for a client. She hadn't planned on getting some heavy action with Captain America. Cat will take this secret to her grave but the jig may be up when the man behind the mask is her newest client.

Law is convinced he has met Cat somewhere before. It will take all his skills on and off the field to find out the identity of his mystery woman . Cat and Law slowly take their relationship from the professional to the hot and sexy. Will Law forgive Cat her secret when it comes out?

Sweet Spot is fun and sexy. Previous characters light up the pages and its nice to revisit old friends. Cat and Law are delightful and you can't help rooting for them to find their happy ending. You can't go wrong with any Kate Angell story.

I have loved this Richmond Rogue Series from the beginning and am so sad to see it come to an end. Loved Law and Cat in this book. Their first meeting at Haunt and the little game they played until the secret came out was fun. The secondary characters, Brody and Mary were cute. Nice to have revisited ALL the players lives in the end of the book. I'm sad. :(. Will look forward to anything written by Kate Angell .

This was described as to baseball what Susan Elizabeth Phillips is to football but that is inaccurate. This book lacks the character development and wit of a Phillips book. It’s formulaic and predictable.

This was a nice sports romance. Pro baseball player and trust fund baby James "Law" Lawless meets Catherine May when he is checking out a popular local club. He is dressed as Captain America; she is dressed as Wonder Woman. They hook up on the dance floor but then Cat runs leaving her lasso of truth behind. Law is fascinated and determined to locate her again.

The next day he meets Cat when he visits a financial adviser and she is the rising star of the firm. She helps him scout out businesses that are part of a charity initiative that he has. She is also determined not to let him know that she was the mysterious Wonder Woman that he is looking for.

They do get to know each other as they work together. Law is attracted to her but isn't looking for any sort of commitment. He is also still looking for his mysterious Wonder Woman. Also, Law doesn't have relationships. He lost interest in them when his parents, friends and grandmother were killed in a car accident when the group was coming home from celebrating his eighth birthday. He was raised by his grandfather and they have a very close relationship.Cat is very different. She comes from a huge, close family that has never had any extra money.

The romantic tension is high in this one and the intimate scenes are hot. My main problem with this one was the romance that just seemed to be thrown in between Brody, another baseball player, and his hometown sweetheart Mary. It just felt like it was thrown in as an afterthought and way to tie up loose ends from earlier books in the series. I did like the fact that both Cat and Law had dogs who were characters in their own rite. Bouncer, Law's dog, was a boxer who was a rescue dog. We get a chance to see Law bonding with something in his relationship with his dog. Cat's dog is a rambunctious pup named Foxy who has a habit of biting people and not letting go until they say "I'm yours."

This one wasn't very memorable but was a good way to spend a couple of hours.

The story and romance of Cat and Law made this book a good read. The story of Brody and Mary started about halfway through the book. I was unable to connect with there characters, so I skipped thru their parts of the book. I rate Cat cat and Law's story a 5, Brody & Mary a 1. I have enjoyed this entire series o books.

I will buy any Kate Angell book I see even without reading the back cover. However, this book left something to be desired. The two main characters were great together but the ending was unusual. I'm not saying it was bad just different and unusual.
