I was pleased that Ms. Coulter resisted the impulse to make amends between mother and daughter, a mother who would hold ill-will against her daughter for something that happened between her and her husband, and there are women who do, would not suddenly become the loving mother. There are great moments in the book, but then ending is flat, and I hope Ms. Coulter will re-work about the last third of the book someday.

I was worried this novel might have too much contemporary romance/sex in it for my liking. Fortunately it didn't a d I found Catherine Coulter's writing quite charming. The action was good, the suspense was good and I loved the characters who were well developed. Not my favorite Coulter novel, but definitely worth reading.

This is a great story for romantic thrillers.
I did enjoy it.
I love everything Catherine Coulted has written.
I am Very addicted to all of her FBI series.
They are the Greatest thrillers of all time.
But I will continue reading Her Romantic thrillers until she has published another or more FBI novels.
Mrs Coulter's is Great in creating plots and characters for all of her stories.
All the conclusions have great endings with the Greatest of endings.

Great Book! Catherine Coulter never fails to entertain. I really enjoyed this book. I hated having to go to work because I had to put my Kindle down.

I like all of this authors books, but this one is a light read and enjoyable, until you realize that the author is not going to go in depth about the characters relationships and explainations of events. She glosses over too much and you keep waiting for reasons why her mother seems to hate her and her sisters are shrews. The soap opera part could have been less and more detail on the story of Mary Lisa and her friends. I thought, like another reviewer that this was going to be a story of Mary Lisa and possible other stories about Lou Lou and Elizabeth, but the ending was so unfinished and abrupt. Very dissapointed. I like the idea of the book, but there was just no detail to the plot. It was fun, but lacking explainations and relationship development. Not enough romance, but could have been developed with all those alpha males running around. I hope the author will sit down and rewrite this book or continue with another that developes more fully for Mary Lisa and her friends. I really would like to read this fun book that Ms Coulter started out with and finished with such crushing disappointment. I hope she reads this review as encouragement to rewrite and not abandon a good idea. It started out refreshing and went down with all the unfinished questions. Good Luck.

Many, many years ago I read Catherine Coulter, read her avidly, eagerly looking forward to her next book. Well, this is the first one of hers that I have read in about a decade and WHAT HAPPENED? Three times I set this book down in disgust, only to come back to it out of sheer stubbornness.

There is not enough room to write about just how bad this book was. From generally poor writing (Mary Lisa said, Jack said, Lou Lou said... until you want to yell "I KNOW who is involved in this conversation!), silly plot, unneccessary side stepping.

WHO CARES that the hero digs a chunky chip into guacamole? OH WOW, we get to know the different flavors of potato chips being devoured by three woman while they talk about the big case. WHEN have any of us heard of investigating cops asking "why is she wearing those pajamas when you are wearing those"? YEAH sure, an agent involved in a case is going to let endangered person call the shots in even the tiniest part of the investigation. And the names! Mary Lisa? Lou Lou? Puker? Gimme a freaking break! Aaaarrrrggggg!!!

Ms. Coulter, I used to love your books. PLEASE get back to what you used to do so well. If you cannot write the "FBI style" books that are so popular now, then don't. STOP feeding the bestseller beast anything less than your best. Cease. Desist. Please go back to what you are great at.

Born To Be Wild is one of my guilty pleasures. I've read it several times and continue to enjoy the humor and the peek into to the world of Daytime Soaps. Is it like Coulter's FBI thrillers? No. Is it like Coulter's historical romances? Not quite but it's a light romp that can be enjoyed in a day.

I love it.
This was my first Catherine Coulter book and will probably be my last. Two stories were happening throughout the book. One was about the actress Mary who had a stalker. The other was what was happening within the tv soap opera with Mary's character. I skipped over most of the soap opera parts due to disinterest. While reading the rest, I was wishing it would be over. I was angry at the author for leaving certain unanswered questions within the story, described below.

CAUTION SPOILERS: Mary goes to visit Jack. They plan to go to bed, but her father shows up for a visit and we never know if the father leaves or if Mary and Jack go to bed (296). Another example is Kelly makes a rude comment about Mary in front of Jack. After Jack left the room, Mary says "What are you up to?" We never hear the answer (309). Another example is throughout the story Mary's mother treats her terribly and hates her. The mother's only friend commits suicide and in the suicide note asks the mother to forgive Mary Later in the story Mary gets a phone call. Jack asks who it was. Mary had some strange expressions and after a moment said "that was my mother." We never learn what was said (342). A couple of the characters were interesting but not enough to make it worth reading. I was disappointed with this author.
