Dorothy Langley was the pseudonym of Dorothy Selma Richardson Kissling, (February 14, 1904 – April 1, 1969) an American novelist. She won the Friends of American Writers award for the best novel by a Midwestern writer for Dark Medallion (1945). Dorothy Selma Richardson was born on February 14, 1904 at Fort Brown, Brownsville, Texas, where her father was serving with the US Army. Her parents died when she was two, and she was raised in Bloomfield, Missouri by her two grandmothers.
