This is one of my all time favorite books hands down I even got my daughter to read it and she love it to had an really old paper back so it was falling apart so happy that I found this hard back will always enjoy this story

As I read I wondered if the fictional ridge might be actually Lightning Ridge. I am interested in opals and the history of that area is similar to that in the book. Good characters and a good glimpse into the life of an opal mining town.
