definite wear! all intact
A tightly written, fast paced, action horror filled with violence, gore and graphically sexual situations. The hero is a classic white hat; a man's man who isn't afraid to use his fists, but isn't a slouch in the brain department either. The bad guy is, well, it's the devil himself. One cannot get much more good versus evil! The stage chosen for their war is a small town isolated in the middle of nowhere. And that's really the size of it.

Given this simple and familiar premise, Johnstone focuses his skills and attention on giving the reader an enjoyable page turner, nothing more, nothing less. His characters might seem cliche, but they serve the purpose of connecting the reader to the events. And through this strong connection, we begin to empathize with and care about their struggles. Before you realize it, you're on the last page and anxious to read more. Luckily, this is but the first in a 5 book series!

If you enjoy your horror served in a simple, solid yarn, "The Devil's Kiss" will provide a good evening's entertainment.
This book is a rehash of material the author has written before. I'm not sure if it's because it was digitized, but there's no spaces between scenes in this book. The protagonist jumps from talking to one character in a library, then the next line he's taking to another character across town and hours later! It's very confusing. Don't waste your money on this poor excuse of a horror novel.
2.5 stars.

This is an okay read. I was interested enough to finish it, but not interested enough to pick up the next in the series.

The novel is corny at times, juvenile even, and there are multiple typos. The characters are one-dimensional and not very interesting; I wasn't invested in who lived or died.

I got this book for ninety-nine cents, and although it wasn't for me I'm okay with having spent a buck on it. It's not worth much more than that, though.
I'm sorry but I can not recommend this book, it's over the top with violence, and gore. And blasphemy that really bothered me. I think you took it to far.
William Johnstone is one of my favorite horror writers. I have the original soft cover book which is being worn out. Needed to add the Kindle book to my collection.
Great novel of a 4 part series. However, please note there are adult themes, language and situations in all 4 novels not suited for young children or teenagers.
This was a very captivating book. It kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next. The story of good versus evil never ends....I couldn't put it down!!!
