This is definitely a different take on the rich man believing he is entitled to his extra-curricular sexual exploits, a scheming gold digger, karma, and the ones who loved them. There are many valuable points (lessons) being highlighted in this web of a tale. However, most were tuned out because the author made a critical mistake in the development of her characters; I did not care about any of them. As a result, this was an extremely hard read. I felt like the author was trying too hard. It was like a great soup with just too many ingredients or rather too much salt.

"Wives and Girlfriends" is a very fast paced read. In fact, I say it ruined the ride. I have never heard myself say "give me break", "oh, please" or "how many more pages" so many times in response to a book. (I love reading books with over 400 pages. I didn't feel sorry for the ostrich wife, bratty daughter, or conniving mistress. I didn't sympathize with the vengeful Detective or the self-righteous cousin who helped Tera take blackmail photos. And I was indifferent to the self-indulgent husbands. I believe if Ms. Ellis utilized another hundred pages; thus, slowing down the action and allowed the reader to spend more time with the characters, this would have been a great read.

As a "who done it" type of story goes, "Wives and Girlfriends" provided multiple possibilities to answer that question. When the culprit is revealed, I'm sure many are surprised by the author's idea of poetic justice. However, I didn't care for the ending. I closed the book thinking the murderer is sanctimonious; money doesn't buy common-sense because I saw ways to beat the charges that the author didn't suggest, and really leaving after 15 years: take responsibility for contributing to the infidelity that occurred because you checked out, your abandonment is just a continuation. There should be two imprisoned, no Richard or happy ever afters. Ugh, I am sorry for my rant; but, I had to get that off my chest.

Do I recommend this book? Well, I certainly understand why the book received 5 stars from most of the reviewers. I guess it depends on the type of reader you are. If you are the type of person that is a critical reader then I say skip this one because it will probably get on your nerves and that is if you hang in there trying to get to the end. If you want to read a book where a narcissist is attacked by karma, you have found your book. If you want to read a book where a blind depressed drug induced pity party turns into enlightenment and a reclaiming of self a.k.a. independence goes to dependence to finding independence than this is a winner. If you enjoyed "Fatal Attraction" this book is for you. If mysteries are your thing then don't hesitate. If vengeance is on your mind then live vicariously through "Wives and Girlfriends. But beware there are explicit heterosexual sex scenes; there are no bi-sexual, lesbian, or gay threads as another reviewer implied. This is definitely a read for adults only.

Nishawnda Ellis did her thing in this page tuner! A crafty "who done it" tale with great characters and a plot that has plenty of suspense. She keeps you guessing all the way through this story and the ending will have you saying "Well damn!"

Karma is a mutha....And in this novel by Ms. Ellis what comes around sure does go around!! This book was sooo good, I could not put it down. I was kind of skeptical about buying this book, because I'd never heard of this author, but I am glad I did!! This is the story of Dominic Jones, a successful businessman who is married, but has to have a "girlfriend". He meets Tera and thinks he's met the perfect lady, but Tera turns out to be a fatal attraction, and ends up dead, with Dominic being the suspect. You will be surprised at who really killed this "professional girlfriend" turned nut-case. Trust, you will enjoy this story! Good job, Nishawnda!!
I have NEVER written a review. I usually just lurk but this book was sooo good I had to share my thoughts. I couldn't put this book down as I was reading it. I found myself reading in my car at red lights and drive thrus. This is a MUST read book. You will not be disappointed. The ending was shocking also. I would have never expected that. A MUST BUY!
The book was hot! From page one the author captures the reader's attention by giving them a page full of what was to come in the future chapters of the book. This was my first book reading from the author and it won't be the last. Keep up the good work Ms. Ellis and continue to give your reader some-thing worth reading.
I did not order this book. I have never heard of this book. It is not in my Order Summary.
I enjoyed the book. After reading feedback I was scared to buy it becasue I thought it would have alot of homosexual scenes, but it didn't have not one and the book was very good. I recommend it, the ending will blow you away.
