Readers, however, will notice Scarlet's monster neighbors peeking at her here and there, and it turns out that they weren't sure that she could like them. When the misunderstanding is cleared up there are kisses, brownies, and beets all around-but the fact that all the neighbors are as ugly as she is doesn't make the lovefest any more understandable-or palatable.

Love the book but disappointed that I paid $5.50 and the book arrived with a .25 cent sticker on it. I feel overcharged.

I'm writing this after having bought it for a friend who is a young mother. This was my boys favorite book when they were little (they're all in their 30's now)
Haha, we would even act it out! It's got a great life lesson for kids that are enduring a move or attempting to fit into a new school!

Perfect book.

the book had a child's name written in the front in black magic markers.. I could not give it for a birthday gift which is why ordered it. Not happy about this.

This book is really cute. And funny enough to keep both myself and my little reading audience of nieces and nephews entertained.

Note: Scarlet repeatedly refers to herself as "stupid" throughout the story as she makes what she considers to be mistakes. I'm not a fan of kids referring to themselves as stupid, so I'm not a huge fan of that word choice being modeled in a story. No stars off as that's a personal preference. However, in case your family feels as I do, the way that I've handled it with my listeners is to talk about why Scarlet is calling herself that and how they would talk to her about using "stupid" to describe herself. That way, the book gives us a good talking prompt about how we see ourselves and others.
