PS, I Love You is a story about losing a loved one-and continuing to love that lost one. It’s also a positive message of love and hope-how our love for someone will never die because they live on in our hearts, in our memories, and, in Holly and Gerry’s case, through Gerry’s letters

So let us know when you want to make an appointment, it’s valid for a year, and the rest of us can book the same . No you’re not. Declan would love to see you there and we hardly got a chance to talk at dinner, we haven’t gone out for ages, he pleaded.

So let us know when you want to make an appointment, it’s valid for a year, and the rest of us can book the same time. Well, we’re hardly going to have a heart-to-heart with the Orgasmic Fish banging out their tunes, she said sarcastically. Well, they’re actually called Black Strawberries now, which has a nice sweet ring to it I think, he laughed.

All right, love, but if you change your mind you know where we are. Bye, dear. Back to her empty, silent house. Em, I was just looking through the list of names in the book and it seems somebody already entered Holly’s name a few months back, in fact it’s one of the first entries. Unless it’s another Holly Kennedy. He trailed off.

P.s. I love you is a heart-warming debut by cecilia ahern. It is a wonderfully warm and heartfelt love story about childhood sweethearts. Some people wait their whole lives to find their soul mates, but not holly and gerry. As childhood sweethearts, they always knew they were meant to be together. Holly and gerry could finish each other's sentences and even when they fought, they laughed. No one could imagine them without each other. A brain tumor brings turmoil to their lives and gerry's death devastates holly. As her 30th birthday looms, gerry comes back to her. He's left her a bundle of notes, one for each month after his death. He is with her even beyond death, gently guiding her new life without him. Each of his notes is signed 'p.s. I love you'. As the notes are gradually opened and as the year unfolds, holly is both cheered up and challenged. The man who knows her better than anyone else sets out to teach her that life goes on. With some help from her friends and her noisy and loving family, holly finds herself laughing, crying, singing and dancing. Brave as she is, she realizes that everyone needs a guardian angel. Life is for living, she realizes. P.s. I love you was published in 2005 and is available in paperback.

One rainy afternoon I watched the movie from this book and noticed it was taken from a book. I bought the book for my kindle and started reading it that night. First of all, the book takes place in Ireland, not New York City. I actually found that locale very charming. I loved the colloquialisms from there. The way the book was written you can almost hear them talking with their Irish brogue. Charming. The book is different in many other ways, yet still the same. I'm sorry I read it so soon after seeing the movie. I spent a lot of time comparing the two. The book is a good read. It is well written and the characters are well developed. As you go through this year of Holly's life, you ache for her as she deals with the death of her husband. I have a friend that lost her husband at a relatively young age just last summer from a brain tumor, this story hit a little close to home. I found I was thinking of my friend as Holly went through her experiences. Not an easy thing to do for me. I would not recommend this book to anyone who recently lost a friend or loved one.

I saw the movie when it came out several years ago and wanted to read the book as a result. The book and the movie are similar but different. Almost like they are two different stories. I know that movies aren't the same as books because they are written by different people. I really like the storyline in the book. It seems to give you a personal look inside the real character in the story line. So I really like the book better than the movie. Very good book.

I read this book after watching the movie. I loved the movie, I also loved the book. However, be prepared as there are many differences between the book and the movie. Still an incredible story of helping a loved one get over the loss of another. So romantic, heartbreaking, and beautiful.

I watched the movie first. I'm glad I did. The book is good and has so much more in it. Holly is a much more likable character in the book than the movie. It's a lovely story of what it's like to work through grieving for a lost loved one no matter how we loose them. I love the thought that Gerry knew Holly so well that he would do this so that she would be able to move on. I fell in love with her family even Richard that was a nice touch and very different from the movie. Daniel is stupid by the way.

I wanted to read this book after seeing the movie again on TV. I enjoy reading the character's thoughts as the action is taking place. While the movie is "based" on the book, it doesn't follow it exactly. I really enjoyed both for different reasons.

You know you are reading a great novel when you have totally escaped from the present world. This narrative has amazing characters and moves at a pace that keeps you turning pages while pulling at your heartstrings just enough to get you to turn the page, chapter, until you hit the back cover. A recommendation for sure.

I originally picked up this book in Ireland while on a business trip. I had lost my own husband only a year or two prior, and reading this story absolutely touched my heart and soul. It made me cry, made me laugh, made me remember love and loss, and stayed with me for years. I enjoyed the movie version when it came out, but it was so different from the book that I promised myself I would read it again one day. I finally watched the movie again recently and decided I had to buy the book and re-read it. I am so glad I did. This is an amazing story that touches my heart over and over again every time I read it or watch it on screen. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to know what true love feels like.
Beautiful. Wonderful. Lovely. A Masterpiece. Heart-warming. Fantastic. Sensational. Emotionally evoking. Cecilia, you are and amazing thinker and writer. I don;t know how you thought of this story, but you did it well. But you delivered to paper even better. This beautiful piece was like watching the most beautiful portrait ever painted through a glass spotted with the spots of the rain, with the rain representing the emotion that even the world feels knowing this book exists. It was truly amazing. I look forward to more books from you (I hear 'Love, Rosie' is good...i already ordered it on Amazon though).
