I found this one in a google search for the genre. I am very pleased I found it, and wish I could find more by the author. It is well written, the characters are well developed, and even though the plot is familiar, there is enough twists to make it interesting. It is a case where the hero learns to be a true leader, and that beauty is as beauty does. Our heroine has disguised her beauty, and intelligence, to protect herself from her evil uncle/guardian, but like the hero, the author shows us the meaning of true beauty. As the story progresses, we see that Gwendolyn is strong, compassionate, wise and self sacrificing, though not perfect. Rather, she comes across as a very human survivor. It is a very rich story, without a lot of filler, so trying to summarize it in detail, would be mostly spoilage. Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down, and would recommend it to those that love the genre, and even to those that just love a good story.

I first read this book years ago, and it remains one of my all time favorite historical romance novels. This is actually the second time I've ordered this book, as someone borrowed my first copy and refused to give it back :)

Although the language takes some accustomed to, and the book is very predictable, I couldn't help but smile the entire time :)
This is a feel good story that I could recommend to anyone who wants to read an uncomplicated fairy-tail.

I really enjoyed reading the book and was hooked from the beginning. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading romance novels. I feel that some of her ideas she portrays in her books come from a source close to her personnally. I can't say enough about this book, it was truly enjoyable.
