Successful costume designer, Rebecca Alexander, is running for her life, desperately existing moment to moment, hidden within a bleak illusion. The carefully constructed veneer she has created in order to endure is shattered by the arrival of sexy PI, Jace Monroe. Jace has come to Shadow Lake to recover from a rock climbing accident, but his keen instincts warn him that the pretty new waitress in town isn't all she appears to be.
One heated look from Jace, and Rebecca is consumed by the flame of unexpected, long-suppressed emotions trying to break free. Giving in to those emotions could lead to another death, because Rebecca is running from a predator...a phantom, known only to her as The Man in the Mask, who wants complete domination of her life-at any cost.
Can Rebecca fight her instincts to run again, long enough to confront her fears and accept the help that Jace offers? The Man in the Mask has already killed once, but can he be stopped before he kills again?
