Truly enjoyed the mystery and especially that it took place on Hilton Head Island. It was fun reading about a place I know so well. Look forward to reading the other books in the series.

Resurrection Road : A Bay Tanner Mystery (Bay Tanner Mysteries). Everything seems fine at first for Bay Tanner (Judas Island ) on Hilton Head Island: there's tennis with French Interpol agent/ lover Darnay and a new marriage proposal. But then a teenager who has.

Abandoned by her lover's defection back to Interpol, private eye Bay Tanner (Perdition House, 2003) returns from Paris to the South Carolina . A decent mystery overpowered by too much local color and domestic detail. Pub Date: June 2nd, 2004.

Abandoned by her lover's defection back to Interpol, private eye Bay Tanner (Perdition House, 2003) returns from Paris to the South Carolina Lowcountry, where she finds mystery aplenty to distract her from Alain Darnay.

Right before he was killed, Grey Palmer Jr. contacted Eric to tell him that while working as an archeologist on the islands off of Beaufort, SC, he had found the remains of a man who was recently killed.

I have a fascination with the low country -- Hilton Head and surrounding islands;Beaufort and Savannah;etc. -- so I started reading Wall and have been working my way through her series. I have enjoyed them all. She has a great 'eye' for detail, using it deftly to create mood and establish character. And the mysteries are interesting and unique. I'd recommend any of her books. You could probably start anywhere in the series and not be 'lost' but I think it's more fun to start at the beginning--"In for a Penny" and watch the protagonist, Bay Tanner, develop.

LOVED all her books. Just introduced to them 2 weeks ago and completed reading all 11 of them during this time. I then read she lost her husband and was not writing at this time. I wanted more of this story. I emailed her with my condolences and said I hoped she would soon be back to writing. She answered my email saying she was now back to writing the Bay Tanner series and happy to have gotten her creative juices returning. Can't wait til the next one. I got the first 4 books at Amazon but since I am a avid and fast reader, I had to get the last from the library. The first ones were under $5 but even that price is a lot for a day and a half. They continued to increase, hence the library. I prefer Amazon for many reasons, not the least is increasing the font for ease in reading. Amazon is pricing themselves too highly, especially since these books started in 2005.

I really like the characters in this series. They feel like old friends waiting for me as I begin the next book.
The settings are also a reason to read this series. It's nice to recognize some of the places the author writes about.

I've read this series through this book and have found it entertaining, but on the light side. The main character is somewhat engaging, but she does some pretty silly things and is too emotional for my taste and for her own good at times. The setting is interesting, as is the subplot about her family.
