THE RAW CRUNCH DIET is unlike any diet I have ever seen. Being raw for 14 years, I was excited that Kathy’s RAW CRUNCH BARS appeared 100% raw, but being a gourmet raw food chef I was skeptical about the taste. Well, I was shocked that they were so good!

This book is more of an advertisement for Kathy Feldman's crunch bars than a book on raw diets. I would not recommend spending your money on this one.

If you wish to do Kathy Feldman's raw food crunch diet, then you'll want to buy this book in conjunction with all of her many products you'll need, because this book is basically a 100-page pamphlet (it's also only about 5x7"-greeting card size) promoting her diet. The diet itself consists of having a green powder supplement with 6 oz. of juice in the morning. This is followed by as much fruit as you can eat all morning, one of her 150-calorie raw food crunch bars, followed by a hearty salad with a whole avocado for lunch. Then, another raw food crunch bar. Then, she says you can eat anything you want for dinner (within reason). Well, I tried this diet, eating a relatively healthy vegetarian meal for dinner, and didn't lose weight, but others might have better luck than myself. I think she is sincere, but if you are interested in raw foods, this isn't much of a guide. It is like I said-a promotion for her products, which include raw crunch bars, vitamineral green powder and her workout tape. One last thought; she gives you no information about your dinner meal other than to say you can have a meal of your choice. Well, if that meal winds up being 700-1800 calories (not uncommon for a restaurant meal), it is unlikely that you will lose.

I first read Kathy's book THE RAW CRUNCH DIET several years ago when I first ordered her incredible Raw Crunch Bars Organic Blueberry Raw Crunch Bars (Box of 12 Bars). This book's sub title reads, "Strengthening your Body from the Inside-Out," and that's exactly what Kathy tells you how to do. Her knowledge of nutrition, exercise, and cellular biology comes across the pages of this book in clear, no nonsense, easy to understand terminology. Kathy's "voice" as an author makes you feel she is speaking directly to you, sharing her expertise and knowledge with you to help you reach your health and fitness goals. Kathy's diet plan, like most things which "ring" with the sound of truth, is incredibly simple and straightforward. Her book tells you how to eat for life. Following her diet plan will make you incredibly healthy. Everything else just flows from there.

If the woman on the cover of this book looks familiar, that's because you've probably seen her in one of countless fitness magazines, sporting a winning smile and a fabulous figure. I used to read some hardcore fitness magazines until I realized that the women featured in them had made working out their lives...and I wasn't ever going to go that far. I used to marvel at the strict regimin of low fat, high protein mini meals coupled with intense daily workouts. Being an on-again-off-again raw vegan for years, I used to wonder what they would say about strength training and the raw diet. Well, now there's someone doing it!

When national fitness competitor, model, and personal trainer Kathy Feldman was diagnosed with hypothyroidism causing excessive weight gain, she began looking for new answers to her diet and exercise regimin. She discovered raw foods and learned that she no longer had to over-exercise to keep her lean and strong physique. Kathy recommends an 80% raw diet consisting of fresh juices with Vitamineral Green for breakfast followed by fresh fruits; an early afternoon snack, one of her delicious Raw Crunch Bars; a mid afternoon salad; another Raw Crunch Bar in the late afternoon; and your dinner of choice (cooked). She highly recommends vegan eating, but this is not a strict, boring diet, and it will definitely appeal to the average eater of the Standard American Diet (SAD).

Kathy keeps it simple; this book is short and sweet and explains all the basics of eating raw without getting too deeply into the details of nutrition for those who are anxious to get straight to the information about transforming their bodies. Her background in cellular biology combined with an easy-going writing style make this petite diet manual a real plus to the field of fitness and nutrition. Like Fit for Life, which helped countless people change their eating habits back in the 80s, this book will appeal to anyone wanting to transition to raw foods or just incorporate more raw foods in the diet without going to extremes.

But let me tell you, the real kicker here is that the diet includes her Raw Crunch Bars, which are just to die for. I'm totally addicted.

A great book for those looking to get started on a healthy diet. This diet may not appeal to those looking for a complex multi-step diet, but it's simplicity is the reason that I was able to find success and get my eating under control. Yes the book does mention the bars several times, but they are called Raw Crunch bars and the book is named "The Raw Crunch Diet"! They are kind of important! She also tells you to just substitute any bar you like for them (although I have yet to find a raw bar that can compare).

I was really looking forward to recieving this book as I thought it might hold some answers to some questions I had regarding weight loss, especially as a person with hypothyroidism. It provides a diet plan, but the plan requires purchasing the products that are not that easy to get. I would say that if you want a book that will inform you on raw dieting, this one is not the best. The book is very small and really just an advertisement for the raw crunch products. I don't believe I gained much insight with this one. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Simple
Not worth the price. It's a poorly written ad than instead of taking 80 pages could have been written in 15; and these aren't even full-sized pages. As a holistic nutritionist, I find this book insulting.
this book gives a great positive view point on raw option dieting
