Dines, also author of How the Average Investor Can Use Technical Analysis for Stock Profits (a 1972 shuck), makes a business of predicting bad news in the most offensively emotionalistic rhetoric. The idea for this book came to him during an appearance on The Joe Franklin Show with Harry Browne. Even though Browne has certainly gotten ahead of him on the best-seller list, Dines claims to be ""one of the first, if not the first, of the well-known American security analysts to detect the gold crisis.

Recently found the book at an estate sale for the price of 1 peso, err, dollar.

Last half the book is snips form TDL '61-'75
I started paying attention in '68. Just back from Vietnam and a new airline pilot.
What a pleasure to read TDL snips from that era.
So exactly like today: The lies from our controllers, off-the-rails politics, MSM idiocy. (at least today we have alt media)

Big takeaway for me is the (re)realization that the PTB can keep the wheels on the wagon way longer than logic would dictate.

"This sucker could go down"...Uttered by our only Prez with an IQ less than 100

Enjoying my popcorn.

I read this book carefully. That was 10 years ago or more. It took at least 5 years for the content to "sink in". I do not know if I would have "got it" without a continuous and continuing subscription to The Dines Letter. This book is worth it's weight in Gold because it will teach you the meaning of Gold.
