They watched as the Indians dismounted, pulling forth their weapons e answered, catching her breath. They took a fighting stance, back to back, as the three Indians approached. A wicked gleam off a scythe caught the water and added to its glitter. Sunukkuhkau approached Samuel, the gleam of his weapon matching the promise in his eyes.

com's Jamie Carie Author Page. Her first book, Snow Angel, was born on a frosty night in an old farmhouse in Fishers, Indiana, where the cold floor gave plenty of motivation for the snow scenes. Jamie loves to write late at night when the house is quiet and the darkness seems alive. Elizabeth and Noah had been playacting in her head for a long time, so the story went fast. Eight years and lots of rejection letters later, Snow Angel was published and won the ForeWord magazine Romance Book of the Year, was a National "Best Books 2007" Awards winner, and a 2008 RITA Awards® Best First Book finalist.

The description of this book, it's historical context, and the author made me eager to read this book. I found myself intrigued throughout. The heroine was fearless. I admired her worshipful abandon reminiscent of King David, her confidence, and hope for the future. She was well matched in ability to the hero. Sometimes this story felt epic and over my head somehow. Perhaps I was being too literal or something. Main threads in the story were wrapped up, but I was left with questions. Obviously I liked it enough to be interested in the answers. This book definitely felt original compared to the many, many books that I have devoured. If any of this sounds interesting to you, I recommend it.
This is a new author for me. I found the book to have many characteristics that I like. I love a competent heroin who engenders admiration. I love a passionate romance that doesn't get too steamy. And I love adventure and danger that ends on a hopeful note. I also love historical elements that teach me something about an era or time. This story had all of the above. I will read everything she writes.
This was a brilliant, page turner! The characters were larger that life! Isabelle was 3 dimensional heroine with great intuition and skills and a love of God. She has met her match in Samuel, an adventurous and courageous spy for the Americans. Their time in captivity with the Shawnee was gripping and their loves endures the test of time and tragedy with the loss of her brother Julian. This is my first read of a Jamie Caries and I could not put it down and plan to read more of her books!
No words. Just sad that the story is over. Really a gifted author. I too will be a fan for life. The places she takes you, the pictures she paints with words and the spirituality, romance, dialog, suspense, historical accuracy are just what make a good vacation from our work a day world. Will buy the hard copy for sure. Now on to the next one....
I didn't know what to expect from this book. I had never heard of the author. I was pulled in immediately and taken on a great adventure. It is historical, inspiring, scarey in parts. An excellent story. I highly recommend this book.
this story should remind every American of the God fearing bravery and sacrifice it took to birth our country. It show ed what real love between A man and woman is, while at the same time remaining true to their love for God.and freedom. Unlike most Americans today that seek the easy and selfish life the people who built this country were real hero's everyday they lived.
This book was a fun read; I would recommend it to anyone who loves adventure and history. The ability of the author to give me this little bit of history is wonderful. I also enjoyed the romance.
Wind Dancer by Jamie Carie is an adventurous tale set in a colonial times when Kentucky was the "west"! But it is also a powerful love story between Isabelle, a daring, exciting young woman and Stephen Holt, a dashing, brave American frontiersman. What an adventure!
