Pat Simmons does it again with "Free From Guilt!" Cameron is a true Jamieson man! And he pulls no punches while working to make Gabrielle "His Woman!". This is pure Christian romance with a touch of heritage. There were moments in the middle that I wanted them to get it together but it turned out better than expected.

Free From Guilt book. Excellently written, Free From Guilt, chronicles the "come to Jesus" experience of the handsome, successful and prideful Cameron Jamieson, and his pursuit of quintessential good girl, Gabrielle Dupree. For me the book met all the fundamentals of a good read.

In Free From Guilt the third book in the Jamieson Legacy, Cameron, cousin to Kidd and Ace, has it all: the looks, money and tbrains. An MIT double degree graduate and lecturer, he is a genius. No amount of knowledge or wisdom however can convince him of the simplicity of God’s love and the gift of salvation. Beatrice Tilley Beacon, aka Grandma BB is a seventy-something, childless widow who is young at heart and full of life.

The Jamieson men in this three book series are challenged with accepting that the past and the present are both in God's hand. Without Him they can't move forward toward their future blessings. The bonus storyline is one that progresses the story of the much-loved Grandma . character from the author's previous Guilt books and her new sidekick, Mrs. Valentine.

The Jamieson Family Legacy series follows the lives of the two Jamieson brothers in Boston, Kidd and Ace and their cousin Cameron from St. Louis.  Kidd, the older brother, is struggling with anger and resentment issues toward his absentee father who never married his mother, but had the audacity to demand his illegitimate sons carry his last name Jamieson. Ace, on the other hand, is on a collision course with disaster as he shows how much a "chip off the old block" he is when it comes to women. Their highly educated MIT graduate cousin, Cameron Jamieson, is all about saving his family from self-destruction. Through genealogy research, Cameron's mission is to show his cousins their worth as eleventh generation descendants of a royal African tribe and give them a choice: to be angry black men or accept the challenge to become strong successful black men.In Free From Guilt the third book in the Jamieson Legacy, Cameron, cousin to Kidd and Ace, has it all: the looks, money and tbrains. An MIT double degree graduate and lecturer, he is a genius. No amount of knowledge or wisdom however can convince him of the simplicity of God's love and the gift of salvation.  He believes it's much more complicated than those men preaching from an outdated book lead others to believe. It's simply going to take more to make a believer out of him. And, he's not alone in this thinking.Beatrice "Tilley" Beacon, aka Grandma BB is a seventy-something, childless widow who is young at heart and full of life. Her antics are legendary among her surrogate family, the Jamiesons, her five hundred facebook fans and the local law enforcement, to whom she is known as the neighborhood one-woman militia crime task force. The Jamieson's always thought they were a unified front to draw Grandma BB to Christ. But when Cameron, her surrogate grandson and the youngest of their clan, returns to spend time with the family in St. Louis, he immediately takes Grandma BB's position that life is to be enjoyed to the fullest. There's always time to repent ...later.The Guilty series/Jamieson Legacy book order:

Pat Simmons does it again with "Free From Guilt!" Cameron is a true Jamieson man! And he pulls no punches while working to make Gabrielle "His Woman!". However, I felt Gabrielle was a little too hard, and too preachy. Yes, as Christians, we are supposed to stand our ground, and not waiver, but you can't draw a sinner by always preaching and never trying to reach them where they are. To me she took it too far, because while God was dealing with Cameron, He (God) was also dealing with her. In an essence, she wanted to change Cameron, and I can tell you from personal experience, regardless of how much you love someone or how much they love you, YOU, can't change them...only God can. So, having him go to church with her and being upset when he wasn't getting what she was getting out of it, was not right. I know this because I did that very same thing when I was on my second year of marriage and got saved while my husband was overseas the first year. When he returned, I expected him to fall in line with my new Christian walk and boy did I get my feelings hurt and my heart broken, and wept many tears trying to get him to see God from where I stood and was seeing Him as well as to conform. In the end, I learned that I could only draw him by my walk.

Gabrielle wanted a man to love her as Christ loved the church, to romance her and make her feel and know she was special. By the nature of the Jamieson men, especially the original three, Parke, Malcolm and Cameron, love and romance went hand in hand. And that proof was in Cameron doing everything in his power to conform to Gabrielle's demands instead of conforming to God's.

Now, I have to ask...Would you think it romantic for a man to fly around the world to prove his love and commitment to you? Romance bleeds throughout the pages of this book and again will have you praying for a Jamieson man to knock on your door! I give this book 4.5 stars (only because of my issues with Gabrielle) but I also highly recommend it as it was a wonderful read! And if you haven't read the previous Jamieson novels...I must say that you are missing a wonderful treat! Starting with Guilty of Love, Not Guilty of Love, Still Guilty, Guilty by Association, the Guilt Trip and finally Free From Guilt! Job well done Ms. Simmons, can't wait for the next book to hit the streets!!!

Free From Guilt by Pat Simmons - 4.5 stars
Jesus lived his life with purpose. He knew that he had to die so we could live. Well Cameron Jamieson has read the bible and can quote scripture but the Word doesn't live in his heart. It wasn't until he met Gabrielle that he realized how real God was. Gabrielle is a God-fearing woman AKA strong solider for God. She has crafted a romance journal using scripture, Christian romantic ideas and her heart so she could clearly recognize her helpmeet. Will Cameron come to God before Gabrielle moves on?

Simmons has laid it all out on the line in this installment of the Jamieson legacy. This is pure Christian romance with a touch of heritage. There were moments in the middle that I wanted them to get it together but it turned out better than expected. The personal touch of genealogy is wonderful and will make you think about your own family heritage. Wanted to see more Grandma BB but loved the new character development. Simmons is on top of her genre...

I have enjoyed each book in The Jamieson Series. Each book made me grab my journal and Bible making notes and studying passages as the characters referenced, "Word". Isn't there another Jamieson book in your head, just waiting to pen....sure hope so.

In her latest installment of her Guilty series, Pat introduces us to the last single Jamieson standing, Cameron Jamieson. While at his cousin's wedding, Cameron meets the woman of his dreams. Unfortunately for Cameron, he is her nightmare. Strong in her convictions, Gabrielle DuPree was waiting on God for husband. Raised in a strong Christian family, Gabrielle was taught to seek God first. In her eyes Cameron would be perfect, if not for his relationship with God. Cameron looks great on paper: several degrees, a great teaching position at a local university but no relationship with God.

I loved this book as it shows how God can use a person to show someone else the way. Pat Simmons has a way intertwining real life everyday life with godly principles. Can't wait until the next installment.

You've done it again!!!! I just finished reading "Free From Guilt" and I am in love all over again with the Jamieson family! I love the relationship between Cameron and Gabrielle. I thought it was awesome how Cameron broke down and called Phillip for some insight. So glad that he came around because I thought Gabrielle was gonna lose her mind! I really don't know which book in "The Guilty/Jamieson Series" I like best! You are definitely in the top 3 of my favorite authors! I really enjoy the history in all of this as well. Good job! God bless you as you continue to lift up our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

Enjoyed the entire book, characters, background history of the Jamieson 's and their legacy. For the main characters of the book God showed himself faithful when we keep our focus on him.
