Excellent ending to a terrific trilogy. Kirkpatrick does not disappoint. Her historical tellings hook your from the beginning, drop you into the story to experience it first hand and leave you longing for more of the story when the ending comes. Forturnately for me, this one takes place within a 20 minute drive of my home so I can dig even deeper into the story and history of the area, walk the streets and fields and go through Emma's house. I HIGHLY recommend any of Jane Kirkpatrick's series or stand alone books. I guarantee they will bring you many hours of joy.

I have read the entire series of the Change, and Cherish Historical Series. In this final book, Emma comes into her own. She has gained wisdom through her trials. She has lost many people along the way. In this book, she shacks free from danger, but there is a price to pay. I just loved this series, as I have all of Jane Kirckpatrick's books. But this one is different. I find myself drawn to Emma, maybe because I have been through several of her trials.

This is the third in the this series. I literally couldn't put the books down. I bought and read them all, and have now started on a different series. Jane Kirkpatrick is a wonderful writer and really brings the characters to life.

Good book! I hope Jane continues to write these wonderful stories.

I enjoyed reading the research at the end about these German Americans.
Jane Kirkpatrick has done it again! This is a wonderful story woven into Oregon history and is a joy to read. The characters come alive and stay in your heart long after the last page is read.
