Hail Holy Queen: An Expla. He became a recognizable lawyer after going through law school at the age of sixteen, but later decided to leave law in favor of giving his salvation more attention. Alphonsus joined the Oratory of St. Philip Neri as a seminarian and was ordained in 1726, when he was thirty. The homilies he gave had the special ability of converting those who had fallen away from the faith.

The "Salve Regina", also known as the "Hail Holy Queen", is a Marian hymn and one of four Marian antiphons sung at different seasons within the Christian liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church. The Salve Regina is traditionally sung at Compline in the time from the Saturday before Trinity Sunday until the Friday before the first Sunday of Advent. The Hail Holy Queen is also the final prayer of the Rosary.

This book was very inspiring and also an eye opener for those who are Catholic and wants to get a bit deeper into the Faith. Please read carefully as it has many words you may not understand. St. Liguori wrote using some words we don't use anymore but would be great if we did. Beautiful book that I strongly recommend.

I recently began reading this book and am in awe. I read only four pages and am compelled to write a review.

Prior to reading this book, I had a much easier time understanding Mary's role in salvation history when I view her with respect to her relationship to her Son. Scripture tells us that Jesus was obedient to His parents after the finding in the temple. We also read in scripture that Jesus performed His first miracle at the wedding feast at Cana, He did this because His mother asked Him to. From these two stories in scripture, it is obvious that Jesus loves His mother a great deal, but this does not even scratch the surface of Mary's role in salvation history. At the foot of the cross, Jesus gives us His mother to be our spiritual mother. Big deal right? Giving us Mary as a mother is probably the greatest gift He could give us other than the Eucharist, because Mary possesses the Heart of Jesus and she always leads us to Him (at Cana she said "Do whatever He tells you.") If one wanted to have a deeper love for Jesus would one have an easier time going directly to Jesus and asking or would it be easier to take the request to Mary, our spiritual mother, and have her bring our request to Jesus? The answer is in the story of the wedding feast at Cana. One will advance more quickly spiritually if they ask Mary for help. The Ark of the Covenant was the most powerful thing on earth for Jews in the Old Testament, therefore, Mary, being the Ark of the New Covenant, must be the most power thing on earth for us.

Here is some of the wisdom from the first three pages of the book. "Since the flesh of Mary was not different from that of Jesus, how can the royal dignity of the Son be denied to the Mother?" "If Jesus is the King of the universe, Mary is its Queen." which makes sense because a King is always the offspring of a Queen. The story of Queen Esther, a type of Queen Mary is provided. Salvation of the Jews was granted at the request of Queen Esther, not by the request of any other Jew approaching the King. Esther was an intercessor with the king, just as Mary is our intercessor with the King of kings. Queens have a better chance of what we need from a king then if we would ask on our own. Mary is our intercessor and has a better chance of getting spiritual gifts from Jesus then if we go directly to Him.

Read this book slowly and meditate on the wisdom contained in it. Ask Mary to ask Jesus to give you all of the Grace that you need to love Jesus the way that she does. Loving Mary does not me we do not love Jesus, we love her because she can help us love Jesus the way she does. Do you think you will make it into Heaven if you have not loved the mother that the Son of God gave you?

This treasure is for all Christians interested in learning more about Mary's important and continuing role in our salvation. Her role in our salvation began with being Jesus' mother, but it has not ended.

Mary is the one human whose character was/is without flaw and therefore her love for us is pure and qualitatively like God's love for us. And, as she is Queen of all, she is the advocate of all who seek her aid with her beloved son, Jesus. Jesus cannot deny anything His mother asks of Him.

Read this book and find encouragement and hope. To do this book's subject justice, study this book. Do not rush through it like a novel. Give it time. The benefits will come to you in improved understanding and stronger faith.

I would encourage open minded non-Christians to read this book as well.
