Jane Louise Curry is a highly professional weaver with a scholarly knack for varying her background colors from Celtic to Elizabethan to California Indian. In The Lost Farm she adapts herself easily to a downhome style: Shrunk? The whole dadburned farm? Her Petey and Granny are plucky and likable, and the problems they face in the new wilderness around their miniaturized farm are fascinating. But as a handmade design this book seems patched together with yarn left over from the author's earlier Mindy's Mysterious Miniature, a charming tale in which an entire town was reduced.
