I included Hilary Knights "Twelve Days of Christmas" with a collection of bear themed books I gave my niece for her baby shower. It is a beautifully illustrated book with colorful and fun scenes filled with all kinds of things going on across the pages. The grand finale is an exuberant and wonderful compilation of all the gifts the young gentleman bear is using to court his lady bear. I was so happy to find it and be able to include as part of my gift.

In this playful companion to Hilary Knight's The Owl and the Pussy-cat the presents never stop. This is another Christmas book from my childhood. It's the traditional "The Twelve Days of Christmas Song" paired up with lovely pictures. When Bedelia Bear is faced with an accumulation of holiday. An anthropomorphic bear giving the presents to his bear lady love. I just found out a female bear is called a sow, just like a pig.

When I came to live with my father and his wife, this book was a part of their Christmas decoration collection. The illustrations are a-freaking-mazing, forgive my crass-ness. There is something about Benjamin and his joyful love for Bedelia and his parade of gifts each page that make this particular publication a personal favorite. I do not love this book for its longevity, if my daughter does not see the brilliance and beauty of this book at the same level that I do, I would never fault her, she is after all, six and cannot recognize brilliance beyond a Barbie movie. This book is as precious to me as the silly stuffed platypus, Barney Google, that my father bought and named in 1985 that to this day makes his celebrated debut this year from the Christmas boxes in suburban Georgia as he did in Vogelweigh, Germany in the 80's, or my own Panda Claus that garners howls of laughter every year I unbox him. The raccoon bandit definitely steals the show, even in the finale of the story, which is so stunning that every year, I am mesmerized by the sheer volume of the illustration. Hilary Knight has definitely created a Christmas treat for me each year that I am so very pleased to have in my own decoration collection.

Absolutely charming, detailed, beautifully colored illustrations accompany the traditional 12 days of Christmas song. This is a lovely addition to any Christmas book collection. Keep an eye out for Reggie Raccoon in each picture!

I included Hilary Knights "Twelve Days of Christmas" with a collection of bear themed books I gave my niece for her baby shower. This has been my favorite version of this old Christmas carol since my own daughter was little.

This is a wonderful book. My children, who are now adults, wore out our copy. Now that I'm a grandma, I needed a new copy for the next generation.

I had a paperback copy of this book as a child and loved it. The pictures are just darling. I wanted a copy to share with my kids. The back fold out page is beautiful. I loved looking for the raccoon.
