A Smithsonian Oceanic Collection Book (Mini book). I am a HUGE fan of the Smithsonian's Backyard printed books series. By: Kathleen M. Narrated by: Peter Thomas. The stories about the animals and insects are indepth, informative and the illustrations are excellent. The book series also came with a companion cassette tape with extremely well done audio production. So, I was expecting "all" the audio from the tape cassettes to be included with the downloaded audio files. Unfortunately Soundprints chose to leave out the additional information about the animal (after the story) found on the taped version.

Love this story.

Artwork is awesome and while vocabulary (names of things) is correct, it is not above children's comprehension. Does not condescend to childish levels of "story-telling". Excellent books for children with curiosity about living things.

Kids really liked the book and laughed about 'playing possum'!

This is a great book to teach children about animals.

This was a great book to use with my 2nd grade class during out possum unit. It is a story about a opossum family's night that incorporates the natural history and biology of the opossum. The kids liked it, and it reinforced some of the science concepts we talked about in science. My only complaint: the books is TINY. I ended up having to take pictures of the illustrations and putting them in a powerpoint so that all my students could see the pictures and I could read the story.
