My prayer is that you will read this book and be challenged to serve the Lord with the same sacrificial love for people that Carrie and David had for people.

My prayer is that you will read this book and be challenged to serve the Lord with the same sacrificial love for people that Carrie and David had for people. It's a great book and one of the most touching books I've read this year.

The subject of the book was more about the relationship of Carrie and David and I would have liked to hear more about the actual work they were doing and the particulars of their daily life in Iraq. But the book did talk a lot about their humanitarian work seperately in other places prior to marriage.

It moves my heart to know that there are still young couples who are giving their lives to reach unreached peoples for Jesus Christ. This is the story of Carrie and David McDonall and their shared love for the Arab people. Carrie was a missionary in Israel and David was a missionary in Jordan. This is the story of how God brought them together, and how they paid the ultimate price for their Lord and Savior in ministry for Him in Iraq.

My prayer is that you will read this book and be challenged to serve the Lord with the same sacrificial love for people that Carrie and David had for people. It's a great book and one of the most touching books I've read this year.

This is getting a lower rating that I would have given it. However, the formatting for Kindle is rather off at times making reading diffcult. I encourage the publisher to go back and get the kindle formatting right, yes it does make a difference. There are paragraph breaks where they should not be and there are missing spaces between words at time. An utter shame given the nature of this book.

Carrie MacDonald came to our church recently and spoke of her experiences with the Muslims. After reading her book, I learned so much about her missionary calling to this part of the world. I learned of how everyday life was for her, the people, meeting David and depending entirely on God's calling on their lives. I'm so glad I purchased the book and am sharing it with my friends and family.

I don't know if I would have the faith and courage to do what this young woman has done. Excellent picture, though I know it is somewhat edited, of living in the Middle East. I would like to know how she is doing today.

Reading this now. Very good. Seeing how a young couple like this give their all to serve the Lord is so inspiring... I plan to share this book with others when I am through.

This is a beautiful love story about two people who love the Lord and without knowing each other end up in the Mid East and they come to love the people there while serving as missionaries (Journeymen); and the love between them after they meet and how their relationship grows from allowing each step of their relationship to be guided by their love for the Lord.

I love reading mission books and this one has your heart racing every single moment! This is such an inspirational read and a must for anyone that loves adventure books that happen on the mission field!
Incredible story of a tragedy and triumph of a young woman who lost her husband as a "first civilian responders" in Iraq. Intriguing account of five people helping villagers only to be slaughtered by insurgents with Carrie as the sole survivor. We hear too little about the sacrifices of volunteer civilians.
